Membership
ANUW is open to all staff members at Northwestern. Members come from all Northwestern University campuses and every field of academic support. Our organization grows each year, a testament to our networking potential. Dues provide access to member-only events and the opportunity to serve on ANUW’s committees or executive board.For Fiscal Year 2025 (September 2024 through August 2025), ANUW membership is $15. Dues cover the cost of in-person programs. Temporary employees are eligible for a dues waiver on their ANUW membership.

Committees
ANUW’s five committees – Publicity, Programming, Mentoring, Membership, and Leadership Development – bolster our work supporting the careers of Northwestern staff. Our committees work to build networks and foster a sense of community among members and throughout the university.
Publicity Committee
The Publicity Committee designs and drafts both internal and public-facing communications, including newsletters, flyers, social media, and the ANUW website. Duties include:
- Assisting in graphic design
- Creating flyers
- Writing/designing the semi-annual newsletter
- Creating the ANUW Connections bi-weekly email
- Managing/editing the ANUW website
- Overseeing social media accounts (LinkedIn)
- Completing design requests from other committees
- Providing event photography, video and/or media recordings

Programming Committee
The Programming Committee plans and hosts events throughout the year for all members. Duties include:
- Brainstorming ideas with the Programming Committee
- Identifying diverse speakers across both campuses
- Organizing room reservations
- Drafting event communication
- Catering, for in-person events
- Creating Zoom links for virtual events
- Collaborating with ANUW’s publicity committee on advertising
- Supporting and staffing the events
- Serving on a subcommittee (communications; book club; banner events; career skills events)

Mentoring Committee
The Mentoring Committee manages the Mentorship program through event planning, communications, and individual guidance. Duties include:
- Planning, leading, and coordinating of mentorship events
- Contributing to the website and newsletter
- Guiding mentorship pairs as needed
- Helping to draft event and communication content
- Attendance at our monthly committee meeting

Membership Committee
The Membership Committee oversees the recruitment and sustaining of membership. Contact the Membership Committee. Duties include:
- Supporting and recruiting members
- Managing membership renewals and registration
- Maintaining the membership database
- Updating membership lists and budget membership dues
- Hosting membership events

Leadership Development Committee
The Leadership Development Committee provides accessible and diverse programming and aggregates resources for staff members at all stages of their careers who are interested in shaping or extending their presence as a leader. Duties include:
- Facilitating one Leadership Development program per year
- Aggregating new Leadership Development resources
- Managing and actively participating in the ANUW Leadership Development Teams channel
- Updating the Leadership Development website as necessary
